New Appointment – Chairman of The Council of The King’s School

Following the retirement of Mrs Rosemary Abrahams as the Chairman of The Council of The King’s School, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ken Chapman as the new Chairman of Council.

Ken attended King’s from 1972 – 1977, boarding in Baker House. His father, Ken (‘45) and sons Sam (‘07) and Max (‘14) also attended the School.

His professional background is in financial markets, with over 35 years of experience in banking, energy markets and trading.

Ken joined the School Council following his appointment by Synod in 2018 and has served as a Member of the School Council’s Executive Committee, the School’s Investment Management Committee and The King’s School Foundation Finance Committee. Amongst other external commitments, Ken is also a Board Member of Moore Theological College.

On behalf of the School Council and wider community, I wish to acknowledge and thank Mrs Rosemary Abrahams for her ten years of extraordinary service as Governor and then Chair of Council (2018 – 23).  Rosemary consistently displayed a model of positive, gracious and selfless leadership.  I and the whole School community are deeply indebted to her for her outstanding contribution.

With my best wishes,

Tony George
Headmaster
