The King's School has a rich and longstanding tradition supporting the education of students from other countries and Tudor House provides a nurturing start to your child’s boarding journey.
During their time at Tudor, students have the opportunity to hone their English language and literature skills as well as become valued members of our boarding community. Enrolment at Tudor House provides students with preferred entry to Senior School boarding in Year 7.
International students make an important contribution to our boarding and wider School community, and do much to bolster our reputation for academic excellence and leadership.
Living in a new country is an adventure. It can also be a long way from the support network of a student’s family. The renowned Pastoral Care program of The King’s School assists students to develop a sense of belonging and promotes their wellbeing.
For international students on a 500 subclass Visa, boarding is compulsory and a guardian who lives locally must be nominated by the parents. Local guardians are interviewed by the Registrar or the Admissions Manager prior to the time of student enrolment. Accommodation provided by the local guardian for the student will also be reviewed by the Registrar prior to enrolment.
Entry is usually for the start of the academic year at the end of January, however, registrations for entry at other times will be considered.
English language proficiency requirements
We require different levels of English ability for students entering at differing levels. In general terms, the older an applicant is, the better their English must be.
Applicants to Years 3-6 Tudor House should be able to communicate in simple spoken and written English. This will be assessed by the Registrar at the time of interview and the student may be required to complete a handwritten task.
assistance through generosity
Note that The King’s School does not use agents to recruit overseas students or enter into agreements with, or pay a commission to, education agents.
