Thank you to all the friends, families, grandparents and special senior citizens that made the last Grandparents’ Day such an extraordinary occasion.
This year, Tudor House welcomed more than 120 grandparents to Grandparents’ Day, one of the highlights of the School calendar. Although it was a brisk morning, the sun was shining brightly for our visitors, all of whom hold a special place in our Tudor House students’ lives. These senior guests were celebrated as they experienced a day in the life of a Tudorian.
The day commenced as guests were treated to a special assembly in the War Memorial Hall. The assembly celebrated our special visitors, and featured student led musical performances. Following the assembly, grandparents enjoyed ‘Australia’s biggest morning tea’, which wonderfully raised funds for the Cancer Council NSW. The day continued in great spirit as guests then participated in a book fair and classroom visits, followed by a beautiful ‘high tea’ styled lunch.
The Tudor House community is extremely grateful for the generosity of the grandparents at the book fair, as it surpassed our wildest expectations. We are delighted to have so many new books in our School library, for the benefit of our students. Book plates to log names and dates have been added to each donated book, so students may borrow and share each book, whenever they like.
A special thank you to all the grandparents who attended the event. Many of them travelled long distances to attend, which meant so much to us. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
