125 Years of The King's School, Tudor House
2022 marks 125 years since The King’s School, Tudor House was founded. It also celebrates 125 years of educational impact and adventure, as well as making a significant impression and difference to the lives of children and families through our unique approach to Academic Excellence, Character Development and Christian community.
The King’s School, Tudor House is one of the oldest Independent Schools in NSW. Opening our doors in October 1897 under Headmaster Wilfred Inman, with just six students, Tudor House has now seen over 2000 graduates join our family of Old Tudorians.
While many things have changed in 125 years, the desire to extract the experiences that co-curricular activities and the great outdoors provide continues to inspire the Tudor House experience.
In 1902, the decision was made to move to the Southern Highlands to the site we know today as Tudor House, which allowed for the further development of our unique educational philosophy.
In 1925, Tudor House was accepted as a Sydney Diocesan School, with John Medley appointed as the new Headmaster in 1931.
By 1937, there were 80 boys enrolled, with a growing waitlist. The Headmaster’s approach to developing a holistic education was ahead of its time, with The King’s School initiating their formal association with Tudor House in 1942. Many of our Year 6 boys continued their education at The King’s School’s campus in North Parramatta.
2017 marked a tremendous milestone, and Tudor House entered a new era with the first enrolment of girls. The School now enrols boys and girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6, offering boarding from Years 3 to 6.
