Boarding life

The King’s School is one of Australia’s largest boarding schools with The King’s School, Tudor House catering for our youngest boarders from Years 3-6.

Boarding is very much a home away from home where the wonderfully supportive and highly qualified staff strive to make it a welcoming and safe space, and a rewarding learning adventure. Students are encouraged to develop their individual talents and interests, taking full advantage of excellent facilities, inspiring surroundings and access to all the opportunities on offer.

Our young boarders participate in an extensive range of learning programs, leadership experiences, sporting fixtures and excursions, developing their integrity, compassion, and a true sense of place.

Pastoral care

Boarding staff are selected because they are people of good character, who have a sense of integrity, a capacity for patience and a strong sense of responsibility.

Everyday situations that arise are used by staff to develop the students’ awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses. Staff show how the application of positive values can help boarders manage the personal issues that confront them.

Boarders are given experiences of service and a practical understanding of qualities such as patience, consistency and responsibility.

A range of options

Our boarding options allow parents to choose what is most suitable for their child and each provides excellent opportunities to mix, immerse and get the most from school life.

We warmly welcome boys and girls from the country and the city, from the local area and from overseas – students from all walks of life and corners of the world happily call Tudor House their home.

Flexibility in boarding

The combined care of our Housemaster and Housemother provides a seamless transition between home and school for all our boarding students. All boarding activities are equal, which has been proven by the girls who are as fearless in their BMX bike riding as the boys alongside them.

Our no-screens policy encourages outdoor and creative play and has been very successful along with weekly letter writing from all boarders to their families.
