Sport teaches preparation, strategy and teamwork

Sport

As a boys’ only school, sport plays a high priority in our offering.  We want boys to experience a great range of sports.

IPSHA Sport Association

Tudor House belongs to the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA) Association.   Sport plays a strong part in a boy’s development.  He learns to value preparation.  He develops skills and tactical knowledge.  He learns to work with others.    He learns about himself.

There are three major sports within the IPSHA organisation, swimming, cross country and athletics.  Tudor House competes in all three offering its athletes a pathway to State and National representation.

Saturday Sport

Tudor House is involved in the IPSHA Saturday sport competition.  Boys may select cricket or softball in Terms One and Four.  During Terms Two and Three, rugby and football are the options.   Competition may see the boys travel to Sydney for matches.  Tudor House also hosts rounds of the competition.

Little Wildee

Boys in Little Wildee have the option of playing sport on Saturdays.  The local football competition welcomes us into their organisation.  Modified cricket (Kanga Cricket) is available in the warmer months.

Coaching

Staff at Tudor House are qualified to coach.  They are dedicated and willing in giving their time and expertise.  The emphasis is on skill development, enjoyment and self improvement.   We want our boys to grow as people.  Sport is a powerful vehicle towards achieving that.

Testimonials

"Apart from schoolwork, we were taught the importance of good manners, respect to women and our elders – and in sport to be gracious when winning and to take defeat with a smile.  Personally, I will never forget my Tudor years.  They were by far the best schooldays of my life."
