Out in the Community

Tudor House is not a private school for primary boys.  Tudor House considers itself an independent primary school.  The difference is in the welcoming nature of our community.  We have an openness and a sense of social justice.

Involving Others

Tudor House involves others via our Parents as Partners programme, and visiting tutors.  After careful screening and mandated Working with Children checks, we draw in volunteers to support our boys in reading and learning.  We invite special guests to talk to the boys, contextualizing learning.

Community Support – charitable and caring

Tudor House takes seriously its role in supporting others less well-off.  Every term we focus on a charity – based on three keys:

  • Local
  • National
  • International

Community Representation

Every year, our boys involve themselves in community events.  Tudor opens its doors and heart to give to others…

  • Southern Highlands Pipe Band Competition
  • ANZAC Day march
  • Tulip Festival
  • Aged care visits
  • Shoe-Box Appeal
  • Red Cross Concert – all funds raised go to the Red Cross
  • Special events

Supporting Others

Tudor boys are also engaged in a mutual link with Tangara – a school that supports special needs.  Our boys visit the school, invite Tangara to our school for camp cooking, and donate goods to garden projects.  Our parents also are involved in giving of their time to support others in need.

"We chose Tudor in the first place - to build the character of our children whilst still allowing them to be little boys. I wanted the Tom Sawyer experience for my kids..."
