Tudor House is a Boy’s Own Adventure
At Tudor House we focus on boys. With over 115 years of educating boys, we have the knowledge, the resources and the expertise that engenders confidence. Your sons are fortunate – they are treading in the footsteps of others. Tudor House offers more: more space, more activities, more learning opportunities.

The importance of play
We have a firm stance on letting boys be boys – because it is via unstructured play boys develop imagination, teamwork/socialisation skills, resilience, persistence, creativity and patience. Tudor believes in playtime for social/emotional growth. We extended our recess to thirty minutes at a time when many schools are reducing their playtime to squeeze more time into their timetables to skill and drill children in the SATs – high stake standardised tests – such as NAPLAN.
We have developed a vast range of play spaces – monkey bars, woodland, dam, sports fields, tennis court, courtyard, cerebral areas, camp sites, base building (building forts), skateboarding, BMX track, and mud zones (boys LOVE mud).
Watch this short video below in which our Headmaster, John Stewart, talks about the importance of learning about taking risks.

It’s okay to be a boy!
Tudor House emphasises the importance of maleness and challenge. We allow our boys to ride bikes, skateboard and scooter at breaktimes, climb trees, build bases, socialise and develop resilience, enjoy crazes (such as marbles and diablos), fly kites and explore. We give common sense back to our boys’ childhood.
