JACK EGAN SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Tudor House and The Tudor House Foundation are proud to announce the Jack Egan Memorial Scholarship.

This scholarship is to be awarded to a boy who would  join the school in Year 5 as either a boarder or day student.  The scholarship is to cover tuition and potentially boarding fees for the holder for up to two years.

Jack ‘Jacko’ Egan came from country NSW and attended Tudor House as a boarder from 1950-54 where he was awarded Dux. He then went on to attend The King’s School from 1955-59 where he was School Captain.  Jacko was distinguished by his sporting abilities, love of the bush and passion for writing. His good-natured irreverence and natural charm made him many long-lasting friendships. Jack also served on the Tudor House Council from 1 January 1998 until his death on 12 July 2007.

In recognition of Jacko’s fondness of Tudor House, a number of his friends have established The Jack Egan Memorial Scholarship to perpetuate his memory and to assist other boys to derive the same great benefits from Tudor House.

In addition to academic criteria, applicants will need to demonstrate attributes in a particular field such as sport, music, drama or art relevant to the School’s educational offering.

Recipients of the Scholarship will be selected by the Foundation based upon their academic ability, to be assessed by the Headmaster’s consideration of relevant information including:
(a) previous School reports
(b) results of scholastic assessments
(c) references from a previous Headmaster and/or Teachers
(d) interview of the prospective recipient and his parents by the Headmaster.

The Scholarship may meet all or a portion of the successful candidate’s tuition, and boarding fees if applicable, as well as disbursements and other costs involved in attending the School.

Candidate’s parents should apply in writing to the Headmaster, as soon as possible, and the candidate may be required to sit an entrance exam.  For more information please contact the Headmaster.
