We consider our curriculum to be like a blanket. The key threads that weft and warp, weaving together all that we do are considered carefully based on thinking and learning. We are blessed to have dedicated specialist teachers coordinating their specific fields.
The importance of specialist lessons
Primary school should focus on much more than just basic skills. These are important for future foundations but too much emphasis and boys become disengaged. Boys must see things making ‘sense’. Giving them a wide spread of learning makes them appreciate learning is more than two key subjects or high-stake testing where boys futures are rated on filling in bubbles on a page within a short time period.
Specialist lessons are timetabled weekly
Our specialist lessons do not interrupt our timetabled protected times. We have designated slots after Recess for our specialist focus, after literacy and numeracy slots.
Our offerings are comprehensive
Our practical lessons are given the time they deserve. Visual Arts and Woodwork are allocated one-and-a-half hours each week. Our boys love to work with their hands!
What do we offer?
Within Learning Central, our premium academic offering, we engage boys in lessons that inspire. We select lessons based on the importance of the ‘discipline’.
- Woodwork – designing and making
- Visual Arts – making and appreciating
- Music – performing, organising, listening
- Religion – comparing, contrasting and reflecting

Tudor House Old Boy
Looking back now, my years at Tudor House were amongst the best years of my life. We just had so much fun. And the friends I made are still with me.
